Treasure chests have been added on Tuesday, February 7 2012. The order in which the treasure chests are more valuable is green chests, blue chests, purple chests, red chests, and gold chests. You need two hits to open a red chest without using a Lightning Pickaxe or higher. You can only open a gold chest if you have premium. The deeper you go, the more valuable the chest is. When mining, chests are usually in large spaces, and large generated spaces usually have chests.

Here is the amount of items you can get in a chest:

Green: 5

Blue: 10

Purple: 15

Red: 20

Gold: 75-100

Gold chests have a chance of giving tnt.

Glitches:

If you mine a red chest with TNT, you will collect the chest instead of the item inside.

If you mine a gold chest rapidly w/o premium, you gain 1 xp each time you hit it-Not fixed

If you mine a gold chest and level up at the same time, you dont see your level increase-Fixed

Trivia:

Gold chests sound like they give gold ores, but they don't
The same treasure chest can give different prizes depending on when you click it.
